As a psychotherapist, I bring a unique, positive approach to therapy. With over 20 years of experience working with Olympic athletes, helping them reach the highest level in life they can, I come to this work with optimism and a strong belief that anyone is capable of making positive changes in their life.
I generally work with the underlying reasons at the root of emotional pain. Without examining these processes that are keeping you stuck in unwanted emotional patterns, lasting change is very difficult. We will explore your past and apply this to the present. You will hopefully take away useful information from the first session that you can use now. You will hopefully learn to avoid “the pothole in the sidewalk” that you’ve stepped into for so long, and begin to experience the power of making new, healthier choices so that you see the pothole and but now have the inner strength to walk around it for good.
It is extremely important that you feel comfortable with me, or any therapist you work with, because these are the most important issues you face. This is about your life. You want to know that the therapist is qualified, educated and someone you can trust.
I am very interactive and will work directly with you. I am not a head-nodder. I will give you an opinion if you want one, but I will let you find your own path. This is your therapy, afterall, and you are in charge of what changes you want to make in your life.
I also have a strong interest in working with artists because of my own background as a theater director. I apply my 20 years of experience in working with Olympic athletes to my work with artists. Those who work with me have found that they have reached a new level of creativity and are able to remove long-standing blocks and obstacles.
